Atiya | Growth

Atiya is back in 2018 after releasing an EP and a single last Summer with her new single "Growth". The production provided by Yang opens up with a skit explaining the evolution of a butterfly, the beauty in it. Atiya then comes in creating a parallel between the butterfly and herself, understanding that pain is what made the butterfly what it is. Pain makes us grow. This message is also evident in the cover art for the single. The wings of the butterfly is a single skull but it can also be seen as a cocoon for the butterfly and from which the butterfly evolved. This is also the source for a lot of her conflict. She understands that she is supposed to grow and "fly" like the butterfly but she continues to hold back on life. She finds herself in a cocoon even though she's ready to break free from her own mind. The only ugly thing about this song is how short it is. It leaves the listener wanting more.
