Flwr Chyld | AuraBlu

Scanning Twitter for fresh finds, I decided to dive into one of my mutual follower’s catalogue and came across Flwr Chyld and his newly released single AuraBlu. A song that has garnered over 62,000 plays in the last few weeks on Spotify alone. I didn’t really know what to expect as I came into this blind but I knew it would be a different experience as it started off with a groovy drum pattern followed by a funky bassline. Flwr Chyld’s vocals are also surprisingly silky. I can’t help but liken his voice to that of Thundercat’s – an influence if I had to assume. Flwr Chyld is accompanied by MIA GLADSTONE and Elujay, with GLADSTONE assisting in the hook and picking up the second verse. Both artists are new to me; another rabbit hole for me to follow during this quarantine. The production is bright and bouncy: a perfect backdrop that begs you to be outside (but don’t actually go outside).
