Noah | Fleeze
It’s been nearly a year since I published an article on a single from an artist. It takes a lot for me to feel the need to do so. The song that has inspired this comes from Noah (of no affiliation to myself) with his latest single “Fleeze”.
I was scrolling my Twitter feed on Monday morning (February 23), when I came across his tweet promoting his newly released work. The link was an Apple Music link and I had just switched over to the platform. (My reasonings here). So I took a chance on Noah and gave it a listen. Needless to say, I do not regret it. This was my first exposure to his music and first impressions are always crucial.
I always tell people the first five seconds of any song is probably the most important. And in these first several seconds, Noah gives the listener smooth instrumentation and buttery vocals. I still can’t tell if those are vocal samples. They sound that good. The background vocals are perfectly supplemental. The hi hat and snap percussions are an easy transition into the verse. I was worried the beat was never going to drop and it does so satisfyingly at the 0:42 mark. The 808 and double-hitting snares make the song sound familiar, but Noah still makes it sound refreshingly new. The fact that he is able to carry both the hooks and the verses so well is also worth noting. At 3 minutes and 19 seconds, the song sounds so short. It has the replayability of a song that’s half its length. I must have ran this song back three times when I first heard it.
I strongly recommend that you stream Noah’s new single on Apple Music. You can also follow him on Twitter.
